The early activities connected with the future development of LABAS began through the Lithuanians’ International Heraldry Foundation (LIHF). The work focused on Lithuanian heritage, heraldry, civic symbolism, cultural diplomacy, and Lithuanian-Irish friendship. Key initiatives included the Brian Boru Heraldry Ceremony and participation in the International Charity Bazaar in Dublin.
Activities expanded into broader cultural and community projects, including “Baltic Links” Design and Culture Exhibition, “Fly Mayo 2015” Festival, commemorative events for Feliksas Vaitkus, construction of the Feliksas Vaitkus monument in Ballinrobe, and the “Jauna Muzika” choir concert in Ireland. This period also marked the establishment of L.A.B.A.S.
LIHF and L.A.B.A.S. operated in a joint activity period. Cultural, public, and community initiatives expanded, and the organisation gradually evolved from heritage-focused activity toward wider community development and international cooperation.
Major activities included the Baltic Day Festival in Dublin, commemoration of January 13th in Ireland, events dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Lithuania-Ireland Diplomatic Relations, and the Lithuanian Community Leaders Meeting in Portlaoise.
LABAS expanded into public debates, community discussions, family and cultural events, educational initiatives, diaspora cooperation, and civic participation. This period strengthened LABAS as a platform for dialogue and community development.
The organisation continued developing international partnerships, cultural cooperation, educational initiatives, community networks, and future-oriented collaborations. These connections created foundations for broader European and international initiatives.
Bridge2018 explored pathways for cooperation between Ireland and Lithuania across academia, business, state institutions, life sciences, cross-border trade, and bilateral dialogue. This marked an important step from cultural-community activity toward strategic international cooperation and innovation-oriented networking.
The organisation expanded its focus toward sustainable communities, ecological initiatives, education, youth development, and future-oriented projects. This stage laid the foundation for Eco Village initiatives and wider community ecosystem development.
The Feliksas Vaitkus memorial initiatives continued through renovation, remembrance projects, heritage preservation, and future museum or educational concepts connected with Lithuanian-Irish aviation history.
LABAS participated in the Erasmus+ project “Deep Skills”, focused on leadership, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and community development competencies. This strengthened European partnerships and organisational experience.
