Lithuanian • Irish • European • Global Friendship

One of the most important foundations of L.A.B.A.S. development has been strengthening friendship, cultural connections and international cooperation between Lithuania, Ireland, Europe and the wider world.

Building on its long-standing Lithuanian–Irish experience, the organisation develops this cooperation further through cultural diplomacy, heritage preservation, community initiatives and international partnerships, connecting people and communities across Europe and beyond.

Heritage & Cultural Diplomacy

One of the symbolic friendship initiatives included the presentation of a Coat of Arms dedicated to King Brian Boru, the O’Brien family, and Lithuanian-Irish friendship. The project represented a gesture of gratitude and friendship from Lithuanians living in Ireland to the Irish people.

Fly Mayo & Lituanica II Legacy

One of the most significant historical and cultural projects was participation in initiatives connected with “Fly Mayo” and the legacy of “Lituanica II”, commemorating Lithuanian pilot Feliksas Vaitkus and the historic transatlantic aviation story linking Lithuania and Ireland.

Memorial Projects & Historical Preservation

As part of long-term commemorative initiatives, memorial monuments and symbolic aviation heritage objects were developed in County Mayo. Future development may include museum concepts, educational initiatives, heritage programmes, and historical tourism projects.

Leadership & Contribution

A special contribution to Lithuanian-Irish friendship initiatives and memorial projects was made by Dainius Čipaitis through organisational leadership, international cooperation, support for cultural and memorial initiatives, community development efforts, and long-term partnership building.
